Product Description
This shade of apple green is one of our most popular colors. It's been made with our mink/cashmere and 100% cashmere yarns. You'll find this dye lot to be identical to previous dye lots.
We developed this yarn in a small family run cashmere farm and spinning mill in the western part of inner Mongolia in August 2008. We still make all our yarns in this same small mill. You'll find the quality is outstanding and the yarns are extremely consistent from dye lot to dye lot. The twist is just right from beginning to end, and the yarn is as soft and fluffy as it is durable. We are the sole global distributor. Finally you can enjoy the luxury of real mink with peace of mind knowing that the mink was never harmed. The ultra soft mink down is wonderfully compatible with cashmere resulting in this extraordinary yarn. Knitting stimulates a lovely blossoming of the mink fibers creating a fluffy soft halo; it really needs to be worked with to be fully appreciated.
Our mink/cashmere yarn is woolen spun. Most yarns are semi worsted spun. This exceptional yarn is spun from mink down and ultra fine cashmere roving where the fibers go every which way. Woolen spun yarns are warmer and fluffier because more air is trapped in the spaces between the fibers. This yarn loves to be washed! Heirlooms knit from this yarn will only improve over time.
To experience the full blossoming effect and whisper-soft halo, it's recommended you wash the mink/cashmere yarn before or after knitting. Washing and care instructions are included with you yarn.
All yarns are top dyed. Fibers are dyed before carding and spinning. Top dyed yarns have richer colors with greater color saturation, and there is no color variation from dye lot to dye lot.
Among the world's finest, undeniably unique yarns, as the sole global distributor, we're delighted to offer this yarn directly to knitters right here on our website.
Note about Colors: Accurately capturing yarn color in a photo shoot is a real challenge as each color of yarn absorbs light a little differently. Detailed color images viewed on monitors with different calibrations is another variable. We make every effort to be accurate. Our controlled studio environment attempts to duplicate the color viewing experience of the yarns held in direct sunlight; usually a little lighter than colors viewed under artificial light.
